Sold on an artist's shop called snappyshop on Etsy, there are actually several different designs to choose from. I liked the salad one, but there's also an owl, some bacon and eggs, a coffee pot and cup, a chicken, and others. One for every personality :-) Oh, and in case you're wondering, the designer says that all the aprons are really sturdy and that they'll hold up in the wash...and if you're as clumsy as I am, that's pretty important... 04-23-2008 | 03:39 PM EST | 0 Comments
16 Sparrows is based out of Chicago, and although I can't say with 100% confidence that these are printed on recycled paper, their website does say that "we are now printing most of our cards on recycled paper with soy-based inks." I'm sure that you could email to find out. I wish that I had a clearer photo to post, but if you click on the image, you'll see all the great detail they put into these. I have a feeling that these are just as fun to get as they are to send. 04-22-2008 | 04:16 PM EST | 0 Comments
Designed by a company called propaganda, the mug is sold by shopmodi.com, based here in NY. I know that I'm going to try to wipe off that coffee drip a hundred times, but that's part of the fun. I have a green tea mug with a crazily realistic tea bag painted on the inside, and it took me forever to remember that it wasn't real. I can be a little slow in the morning...but it's good to laugh at yourself now and then ^_^ 04-21-2008 | 09:28 PM EST | 0 Comments
Made by a company called Figs and Ginger, it's available in two versionsDark Patina and Brushed Silver. And part of what encouraged me to include the Elliot Necklace on apostrophe is that Figs and Ginger is trying to be as earth friendly as they can. All the silver and gold they use has been either recycled or reclaimed, they're "using earth friendly jewelry tools & products," they recycle, all their literature is printed on recycled paper with soy ink, etc. You get the picture. If only everyone were so good about these things. 04-19-2008 | 11:14 AM EST | 0 Comments
The Kuchengnomen are made by a group of designers in Redhook, Brooklyn (not too far from me, actually) who started a company called cake decor, and they're available in white, silver (pictured), gold, or painted. |
