Oh, what do I want to tell you about apostrophe...what would you even want to know? Basically, the idea for a blog showcasing fun, unique stuff for women over 30 came from the fact that I love having this kind of stuff but I get so frustrated trying to find it. Half the time it seems like the prices are completely outragous and the other half of the time it seems like everything is made for girls in their 20s. I don't believe that cute is just for the younger set, but I do think it becomes harder and harder to find fun stuff as you get older. I've found myself on a new kick to try to look older than a college kid, but with that said, I still love wearing my squirrel button necklace, I can't stop asking my snail-shaped tape dispenser Speedy for tape before I take it, and I love having somewhat girly stationary for my thank you letters.

What I'm hoping to create through apostrophe is a good resource for women looking for clothes, stationary, jewelry, mugs, mousepads (you get the idea) who want to have something a little different. It's fun having something unique, but it's not necessarily fun scouring websites hoping to find what you're looking for.

And that's where I come in. I'm already looking around online so I thought that I'd just post what I find. Maybe you'll decide that we have the same taste, maybe you'll find just what you're looking for, maybe you'll see the perfect present for someone. If so, I'd absolutely love to hear from you.

If you came to this page to learn more about me, I guess that I can share some extra tidbits. Let's see, I somehow found myself moving around a lot since college, and it's been a great way to see different parts of the country. Along the way, I've run across some local artists that make some really cool stuff (I'm sure that I'll post about some of it) and it's just been a lot of fun. So far, I've lived in Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Washington, and New York (for a second time). And in case you're wondering where in New York, I'm living in Brooklyn right now. Besides moving, I've been vegetarian since I was 16 so all the products I post about will be cruelty-free, I'm a cheapskate (I just don't understand why someone would pay $80 for a t-shirt), and I have a sometimes overwhelming addiction to Starburst candies. For the past couple of years, I've been working with my husband as web and software developer, so if you're interested in contacting me about designing a website or anything else, I'd also love to hear from you about that, too.
