Apostrophe

Bitty Bunny-Bot

Bitty Bunny-BotI was looking around online to see if I could find a cute little stuffed robot for a friend's 2-year-old, and I ran across this little robot bunny. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but with Easter just around the corner, I thought that it would be a perfect post to add to apostrophe.

Bitty Bunny-Bot is made by Littlebrownbyrd and can be found in her Etsy shop. Oh, and just in case you were intrigued by the stuffed robot, she has a more traditional one of these on her site, too :-) The bunny is about 3 inches tall and comes with a ribbon attached to the head so that you can easily hang it if you'd also. Seems like it would make a cute Christmas tree ornament...I'll have to keep that in mind....

Free Floral Pop Recipe Cards

Free Floral Pop Recipe CardsI always appreciate when people post free things online, but it's an added bonus when you run across something that's totally your style AND it's something you need. I know that I posted about some other really cute recipe cards months ago, but to be honest, I just never got around to organizing all those recipes. But, I ran across these free Floral Pop cards about a month ago and I can say that I'm now making my way through all my paperwork and creating a fun recipe box to flip through.

The cards were created by Kip, the owner of a very cool blog called messy vegetarian cook. I highly recommend that you poke around her site for a bit while you're there—I ended up spending more time looking around than I actually had time for, and I've been back a few times since. Not only are her recipe cards cute, but her recipes look pretty darn good, too. I'm thinking about trying the Vegetarian Sri Lankan "Chicken" Curry....

Oh, and one of the great things about these recipe cards is that she was nice enough to create a fillable PDF of all four styles—it's so much easier (and neater!) to just type up your recipes.

New site launched -- PillowPatter.com

PillowPatter.comAs you've probably noticed, I haven't been very active on apostrophe for awhile, but it's not because I've lost interest or gotten lazy—I've actually been working on a new site with a couple of friends. Now that it's launched, though, I'm planning on getting back to apostrophe more often. If you want to see what I've been up to, you should check out our new site, PillowPatter.

"They say that all of us dream, but we don't all remember the stories that play out in our heads at night. For the lucky ones who remember, though, dreams can act as a window into our inner demons, concerns, or joys—if we have any clue about what they mean! PillowPatter is here to help with that last part."

"PillowPatter provides a place for community members to post their dreams and then open them up to the public for interpretation. Some of the interpretations are undoubtedly funny (and some of the dreams are equally laughable), but you never know what you could learn from your new-found PillowPatter friends."

Dandelion Necklace

Dandelion NecklaceIt's been a couple of weeks since I posted anything new here on apostrophe, but I'm back with a ton of really cool things to tell you about. I was trying to figure out where to start, and because this Dandelion Necklace has been stuck in my head since I first saw it, I decided that it was a good beginning. The colors are right up my alley, and I love the idea of having a large disc necklace—it's somehow funky, clunky, and girly all at the same time! Plus, the pattern on this one is great because it's recognizable but still somewhat abstract.

Designed by Baltimore-based dandelionblu, the necklace is made of enamel on copper and, according to the designers website, "the pieces are created by sifting powdered glass in layers and firing the glass till it fuses for each color." The disc is around 1 1/2 inches in diameter and it comes on either a silk cord or a cable wire—your choice. And since the design isn't pre-made, each necklace is truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

April Showers Mouse Pad

April Showers Mouse PadThe Renegade Craft Fair had its fair share of jewelry designers, but not everyone there was surrounded by necklaces or rings. I've mentioned before that I love when technology meets handcrafted, so when I saw a booth full of mouse pads, I have to admit that I made a beeline for it. Now, I feel like I have to tell you that I've been using a Saturn mouse pad that my husband and I got for free about 10 years ago when we leased our first car, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been keeping my eye out for a replacement. I don't know that this is exactly what I'm looking for either (I have a very cute ladybug mouse that I'm trying to match up), but I thought that you guys would enjoy these.

The April Showers Mouse Pad is available from a store called My Favorite Mirror. From what I can tell, it's basically a repository for over 40 different artists, giving them a place to put their designs on a few products. This mouse pad is designed by My Paper Crane, and it's hand-pressed by the owners of My Favorite Mirror in their Fort Wayne, Indiana, studio. According to their website, they use "a professional quality heat-press and top of the line mouse pads. Each mouse pad is 7.5 inches across and is nearly 1/4 an inch thick."
